Next Generation CI/CD: Death to Jenkinstein

A talk I gave at Wrocław Agile Development 2019, on the technology track.

New ways of doing things can accelerate product delivery and add value to any technology business. In this talk, I will tell a story of a new breed of engineers that are fighting back to free the masses of all the evil of slow-paced CI/CD systems in a world ruled by a scary Jenkinstein ( /(.*stein)/g) and his plugin army.

Notes

The talk makes the case for rethinking CI/CD as a product rather than an inheritance: less plugin sprawl, faster feedback, and pipelines that teams actually want to use. It’s the thread that runs through most of my work since: DevEx, tooling, and making the paved path the easy path.
